Winter matinee with Bach and Rameau
Sunday 11 February 2024
14:15 h
Het Concertgebouw, Kleine Zaal
After a number of concerts with a chamber orchestra, Pearls in Baroque presents this time with a smaller ensemble, so that the transparent sound of each individual instrument is clearly audible. An intimate concert with two Sonatas for violin and harpsichord by Bach by baroque violinist Sayuri Yamagata and harpsichordist Noriko Amano, who have also recorded these pieces on CD and LP. According to a review, Sayuri Yamagata’s expressive violin playing takes a careful approach to this masterpiece, shedding light on the essence and sincerity of the piece, while Noriko Amano’s harpsichord playing perfectly accompanies the violin. A wonderful world is unfolding!
